Please stop This comic has been dead for a while, and it should have stayed that way. I have nothing against the actual members of the comic, but the comic itself causes lots of long forgotten emotions to show up again, and it triggers me IMMENSELY. When I get triggered, I have to take it out on people like Oliver by yelling at them and/or being rude to them. (And don't say "well then just ignore the comic", because ITS NOT THAT EASY.) There are plenty of other comics that you could join to share your art, etc., that are NOT triggers to me. This one in particular reminds me a lot of the lesser aspects of my past life. It had ended at 1,000 comics, which was the PERFECT number to stop at, but then someone decided that they would ruin that and make me really really upset in doing so. So please, for the sake of myself and everyone close to me, LET THIS COMIC REST IN PEACE.
@F0R54K3N: Look, here's this fancy new idea
1) Remove comic from favorites

Because honestly, the issue here is with you. The fact that you don't do anything yourself to distance yourself from the comic is entirely on you, not the rest of the people here who legitimately have no issue with this.

TL;DR It's your responsibility to move on, not anyone else's.
@aqua the hedgie: did you even read my fricking comment
I SPECIFICALLY SAID NOT TO TELL ME TO IGNORE THIS COMIC
NO MATTER HOW HARD I TRY
I'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO STOP MYSELF FROM GLANCING BACK EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE
@F0R54K3N: And did you read mine explaining that it's not our fault if you can't control your own urges?
@aqua the hedgie: I did, actually. ANd I never said it WAS your fault. However, I had calmed down about this comic, thinking it was finally done, aND THEN YOU JERKS COME ALONG AND SAY "OH SCREW YOU SURE WE COULD HAVE OUR OWN ART COMICS AND GET FAR MORE ATTENTION BUT NAAAAH LETS POST IT TO A STUPID SPAM DUMP THAT IS KNOWN TO TRIGGER AND UPSET PEOPLE"
@F0R54K3N: That is, in fact, a statement putting us at fault when you have the power to just not look. I'm sorry you feel this way, but we would rather enjoy ourselves than pander to an absolute minority of at most two people who can't control themselves.
@aqua the hedgie: I REALLY DON'T HAVE THAT POWER. AND TRUST ME, ITS MORE THAN TWO PEOPLE. I KNOW THAT AS A FACT
@F0R54K3N: Good for you. But it's still not my problem.
@aqua the hedgie: You know you could just say "Okay, I'll be a nice, reasonable, and understanding person and make my own art comic to post my art, and then link it at DOMP so that anyone interested can go there! That way, people who want to see my art get more, and people who don't don't have to deal with it! Everyone wins!"
@F0R54K3N: Alternatively, I post somewhere that already has attention, and the people who have a problem with it can deal with it on their own.
@aqua the hedgie: Hey, I know it might not be my place to say this, but I might as well say something, y'know? Calvin, Sky here has impulsivity issues; BPD/ADHD/OCD basically leads him into very impulsive behaviors of which he desperately tries to stop but can't really... He might have issues articulating calmly right now due to how you're shutting down his argument; he's honestly getting rather upset right now to the borderline of irrationality once again. This place holds a lot of memories for people, too. It's where friendships and loves first formed. And where they also fell apart. This is kind of the converging point for a lot of different people, and it might stress them out to witness the past in some form or fashion-- I know with me, I honestly have trouble with the past due to my obsessive nature.

Out of kindness, I really just want Sky to not be so frustrated and other people just annoyed at his seemingly irrational actions. It might not be your problem exactly, but emotional issues need the help of other people around the affected person to at least help mitigate the negative effects. I do not wish to hurt anyone's feelings, however-- I only wish to clarify on the behalf of Skybyte. Mental illness is never a 100% excuse for actions, and it's a rather petty card to play, but it's a rationale for why things happen the way they do and for a small bit of a deeper look inside someone other than the shallow emotions at front.
@Divide: I understand that. But even then, to not remove the comic from favorites and then complain when it updates is something with the consumer entirely at fault, not the creator.

It would be like if I constantly boycotted Bud Light for producing alcoholic beverages, but went in and purchased the newest flavor every time one was announced. It's an exercise in futility and the producer isn't at fault.

At least, that's how I see this.

Edit: I forgot to mention that in addition to the buying every product, I would additionally blame it on my apparent addiction to alcohol and say it's Bud Light's fault I'm addicted.
@aqua the hedgie: This actually isnt a matter of not removing from favorites being the problem
Oliver unintentionally informed me of the update after I'd long stopped looking at smackjeeves at all.
Its not unlikely this type of slip-up could happen again in the future.
Also, I have severe guilt issues. I'd feel really bad if I unfavorited a comic that played such an important role to me in the past; i'd feel like i basically betrayed the comic and everything it once stood for. This is the same reason I can never stay mad at someone indefinitely, and never keep someone blocked on skype, regardless of what they may have done to me.
@F0R54K3N: this comic has a ton of people working on it and we arent going to stop posting because one person gets mad when they see it but somehow cant stop looking at it
@SuperScratchkat: did you even read anything else on this page
im dead serious did you read ANYTHING
you especially have no excuse for posting here
you've given me the impression that you're doing it with the INTENT of making me upset
you could just as well post everything to geas
the domp audience and the geas audience are basically the same
and also, there are probably MORE PEOPLE WHO OPPOSE THE CONTINUED ACTIVITY OF THIS COMIC
THAN THERE ARE ACTIVE POSTERS HERE
SO PLEASE
JUST
STOP
or jsut yknow LET ME FRICKING BACK IN BECAUSE I WAS KICKED OUT FOR SOMETHING THAT HAPPENED AGES AGO IN A SERIES OF VERY CONFUSED MISUNDERSTANDINGS AND OVERINTERPRETATIONS AND HAVE BEEN LEAD TO FEEL IMMENSE UNBEARABLE GUILT EVERY TIME I SEE THIS COMIC UPDATE AGAIN KNOWING THAT ITS SOMEHOW JUST COMPLETELY UNFAZED BY THE FACT THAT ONE OF ITS MSOT ACTIVE CONTRIBUTORS WAS BASICALLY PERMABANNED FROM EVERYTHING FOR LITERALLY THE DUMBEST REASONS
@aqua the hedgie: Irrationality affects anyone, haha. Honestly the situation is more as if a certain place has closed down, right? And when it was open, you've had one of the most memorably negative experiences there, thereby giving yourself the association of the place with said negatives. Say, time passes. It's closed, and life goes back to normal. Sure, some things come in and out every now and then, but it's easy to ignore-- there's better distractions out there. However... Say, someone shouts to let the store stay closed. People, being beings of which enjoy vexing others for the sheer sake of disobedience, brig back activity. Such a sudden spike of activity is instantly called upon-- in my own absentmindedness, I did bring it up momentarily, reviving the negative emotions of the past. It's hard to get over the past. Even moreso when it's linked to harsh times. Emotional triggers are as irrational as the emotions themselves-- impulsive based, erratic, and strong.
lol, wow.
@Nashew: Hey, Nash. Please back off. You're laughing at Skybyte's genuine emotional distress-- it's honestly cruel to laugh...
@Divide: While that comparison is definitely more accurate than the one I made, it doesn't really justify why the one with the bad experience would then return to the establishment frequently, go inside, and then do nothing but complain about the place no longer being closed.
@aqua the hedgie: because its a matter of satisfaction that its finally over. its a closed book. its done. finished. Imagine youre playing a difficult level in a videogame. You finally get through the level and beat the game. Youre super satisfied you were finally able to overcome the obstacle...but then a dlc expansion comes out for the game that adds on to the level. You already beat the level, but you wont feel right unless you go to beat it again. idk where im going with this but hopefully you get the idea.
@F0R54K3N: I mean, I kind of do but I would take that as a chance to do even better, to improve on my previous attempts.
@aqua the hedgie: kinda hard to do if its an online game and they blacklist you for accidentally saying something offensive when you were a kid
@F0R54K3N: Then that's when you either move on or make a new account and start fresh.
@aqua the hedgie: i literally fricking made this account and applied to the comic so
@F0R54K3N: Then you're off to a good start. If it continues to not work out, there's always the other option I mentioned.
@Divide: Yyyyyyeah, okay.
i mean i'm just here
@nyancat6650: Please don't do the same thing as you have done long ago. Remember?
huh did someone say something
